Josiah Firth built the tower on this site in 1882. The tower is 16 metres high and is one of the earliest concrete buildings in the district. The tower was refurbished as the centrepiece of the museum in 1978. The lookout was rebuilt in 1990 by Stanley Construction.

 

Please note that the public toilets at Firth Tower will be closed from 7-31 July due to a scheduled upgrade. A portaloo will be available on site. We apologise for any inconvenience.
